Easy Slap Chips braai dipping sauce

Serves: 4-6 Tip: Covering the cooked chips with a pieces of paper towel when draining will make them even softer

Directions

  • Peel the potatoes and cut into 2 cm wide chips.
  • Place the chips in cold water and allow to stand for at least 5 minutes.
  • Meanwhile in a small bowl combine all the dipping sauce ingredients and mix well. Set aside.
  • Remove the potatoes from the water and drain well.
  • Place the chips on a microwaveable plate and microwave the chips on high for 5 minutes.
  • Pre-heat the oil to 180°C.
  • Fry the chips in batches until they just start to turn golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain well.
  • Once all the chips are fried pour over the vinegar and season with salt.
  • Serve with dipping sauce

Ingredients

  • <h3>Slap Chips</h3>
  • 5 Potatoes, waxy (BP13, Mondial, Fabula etc.)
  • 3 tbsp Vinegar, white
  • 1 tsp Salt, fine
  • Oil for frying
  • <h3>Braai Dipping Sauce</h3>
  • ½ cup Mayonnaise, creamy
  • ¼ cup Tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp Tabasco
  • 1 tsp Lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Lamb/Chop Spices
