Potato, Onion and Cheese Fingers

Directions

  • Melt the butter in a large frying pan and sauté the onions until translucent
  • Put the mash into a mixing bowl and combine with the egg, onion mixture, cheese and season
  • Divide into 12 balls and roll each ball into a short sausage and dust with flour.
  • Refrigerate for about 1 hour.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan and shallow fry until golden.
  • Serve with a dip of choice

Ingredients

  • 60 ml (¼ cup) butter
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 4 potatoes, mashed
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 240 g cheddar, grated
  • Salt to taste
  • Cake flour for dusting
