Potatoes, chicken, and Cape Malay tomato bredie

Directions
- Put the onion, water and cinnamon in a large pot and cook until tender.
- Cook over low heat until all the water is absorbed.
- Add oil and cook the onions until the onions are brown in color.
- Put the lamb in and stir well.
- Cover with a lid and cook on low heat for 30 minutes.
- Add the tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, and spices. Cover again and cook over low heat until the potatoes are cooked through.
- Sprinkle dish and serve hot.
Ingredients
- 2 onions, chopped
- 0.50 cup water
- 2 tbsp minced cinnamon
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 800 g mutton, square
- 450 g tomatoes, chopped
- 1 red pepper, peeled and finely chopped
- 3 mashed potatoes, cut into quarters
- salt and pepper, to taste
